James Neiss is an internationally published award winning photojournalist at the Niagara Gazette, a daily newspaper in Niagara Falls, N.Y. With and education in art photography, Neiss entered the news photography profession in 1984 and has lived through the industry transformation from wet darkroom to digital imaging, often taking a leadership role in effecting the transition at the Niagara Gazette and bringing his pioneering spirit and skills to friends and colleagues as Webmaster of the National Press Photographers Association in the late 1990’s.
Over the years Neiss has mastered 360º panoramic photography, recently earned FAA Part 107 certification to fly drones and rediscover the joy of art photography, often participating in local gallery shows and selling art at local street festivals including The Lewiston and Elmwood Art Festivals.
James Neiss was born in Buffalo, N.Y. on a cold January day in 1960. In 1979 he became a student of photography as a senior in High School and continues to be so to this day.
